Meru boy rescued after 7 years in cage enjoys 1st flight, vacation with caregiver: "He's doing well"

A young boy from Nduruma in Mwanganthia Ward, Imenti Central Sub-county, Meru county is now enjoying a better life, thanks to the kindness of Kenyans.

Mwiti had been living in a cage for seven years before he was rescued by well-wishers after his heartbreaking story went viral online.

The nine-year-old boy has since been given a better life, and his transformation has left many social media users in awe.

He was recently treated to his first flight and a fun-filled holiday, as comedian-turned-philanthropist Eric Omondi shared a heartwarming clip from the vacation.

Mwiti, Eric Omondi arrive at airport

“From the kennel to the skies. Hey guys, Mwiti is doing really well. A big thank you to everyone who offered to take Mwiti for a holiday on his first flight together with his caregiver Vera. Team Sisi kwa Sisi, you are incredible and God will repay each one of you. God wins,” he joyfully wrote.

The video captured the moment Eric, Vera the boy’s caregiver, and Mwiti arrived at the airport on their way to board the plane.

Mwiti was visibly excited and had to be gently guided by the hand as he eagerly rushed toward the aircraft, preparing to fly for the first time in his life.

He was then helped up the stairs and into the plane, with Eric closely behind him and Vera following right after.

Inside the aircraft, Mwiti could barely contain his excitement, which was clearly visible on his face and through his energetic reactions, while Vera lovingly tried to calm him down.

The next scene showed them at their destination, enjoying delicious food together with the rest of the team they had travelled with.

Mwiti happily enjoyed the coastal meal while seated on the lap of his caring guardian.

Eric later took Mwiti to the beach, where he excitedly ran through the water and played along the shoreline as the ocean breeze blew around him.

The group also enjoyed a boat ride together, bonding and creating beautiful memories to the delight of netizens who flooded the comment section with heartwarming messages.

Meru woman treats 94-year-old grandfather to first flight

In another story, a Meru woman surprised her 94-year-old grandfather with his first-ever flight and a fully paid family vacation to the Coast.

The emotional trip included a maiden flight aboard Jambojet, leaving the elderly man overwhelmed with joy and giving him a chance to embrace a new adventure.

Upon arrival, the family toured Diani Beach, where the grandfather enjoyed the ocean breeze, scenic views, and pristine white sands.

Speaking to GossipsNG, the young woman revealed that the nonagenarian broke into a Meru thanksgiving song, praising his granddaughter and family for the unforgettable experience.
