The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has announced two key registration deadlines May 24 and May 31 for candidates wishing to sit for the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) and the May/June In-School Certificate Examinations respectively.

This was disclosed in a statement released on Wednesday in Benin by the board’s Assistant Director of Media and Protocol, Uchechukwu Olisah. According to the statement, NABTEB’s Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mohammed Mohammed, confirmed that registration for the 2026 May/June In-School Examinations will close on Sunday, May 31, 2026, while the deadline for the NCEE falls on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

Dr. Mohammed urged schools, parents, guardians, and prospective candidates to make use of the available registration window and complete all required procedures well ahead of the deadlines in order to avoid last-minute complications.

He added that the registration process has been made more accessible through dedicated online portals designed to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience for both candidates and schools.

For the May/June In-School registration, schools are required to request slots through their respective state offices, capture candidates using NABTEB’s biometric software, and finalise registration via the official portal at mayjune.nabteb.gov.ng.

Schools are also expected to obtain login credentials through their state office, access the school portal, make the necessary payment, and complete the registration process through school.nabteb.gov.ng.

For the NCEE, candidates are required to obtain Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) through their state offices and complete their registration on the Common Entrance Portal at commonentrance.nabteb.gov.ng.

Candidates also have the option of independently creating accounts online and completing their registration digitally.

Schools may additionally obtain login details through their state offices to carry out bulk registration, with payments and final registration to be completed via student.nabteb.gov.ng.

Dr. Mohammed reaffirmed the board’s dedication to harnessing technology to enhance service delivery and improve the overall administration of examinations across the country.

He also called on both candidates and school officials to adhere strictly to all registration guidelines and ensure that candidates’ data is submitted accurately.

Members of the public requiring further assistance are encouraged to visit the nearest NABTEB state office or access the board’s official registration portals for guidance and support.
