A Nairobi woman has warmed hearts online after orchestrating a surprise that gave her father his first-ever flight experience ahead of his retirement next year.

The woman said her father had long expressed a dream of boarding an aircraft once he retired from work, and she made it her personal mission to make his dream come true.
As documented in her TikTok post, Winnie secretly planned a special journey while keeping him under the impression that they would be travelling by bus from Nairobi to Busia.
To keep up the cover story, she booked a bus ticket that was sent directly to her father’s phone via SMS. However, confusion set in when the father noticed that the pickup point read Nairobi instead of Mombasa, and he insisted they visit a booking office to “correct” the details.
What he did not know was that the bus ticket was only part of an elaborate surprise plan. The real arrangement was a flight that had already been booked as the main highlight of the trip.

On the day of travel, the excited father reportedly woke up early and was fully dressed by 10am despite the journey being scheduled for the evening. The woman deliberately delayed departure, making several stops in town before eventually heading towards the airport.
Even then, the father believed they were simply running errands.
The emotional reveal came when she handed him a boarding pass for the flight to Nairobi. The moment he realised he was about to board a plane for the very first time, his expression shifted from confusion to shock and then pure joy.
The touching gesture has since drawn praise online, with many celebrating the woman for honouring her father’s lifelong dream and sacrifices.
