Nigerian businessman and socialite Obi Cubana has reportedly removed all posts linked to the City Boy Movement from his Instagram page, a development that has sparked fresh conversations online.

Checks on his social media page showed that posts and promotional materials associated with the pro-President Bola Tinubu support group were no longer visible as of the time this report was filed.

The move comes months after the nightlife entrepreneur faced criticism from some Nigerians following his open support for President Bola Tinubu and his administration.

Obi Cubana had earlier been unveiled as the South-East Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, a political advocacy platform created to support Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

His involvement with the group generated mixed reactions, especially on social media, where many users accused celebrities and influential businessmen of aligning too closely with politicians despite the country’s economic challenges.

Although the businessman has not issued any public statement explaining the reason behind the removal of the posts, the action has continued to attract attention online, with supporters and critics offering different interpretations.

Politics Nigeria reports that the City Boy Movement was established as a youth-focused civic and political engagement platform aimed at mobilising grassroots support for the Tinubu administration.

The organisation has been involved in several outreach activities across the country, including campus tours, political rallies, empowerment programmes and food distribution exercises targeted at vulnerable communities.

The group also claimed to have distributed relief materials and cash support to residents in different parts of Nigeria as part of its community engagement efforts.

Obi Cubana, whose real name is Obinna Iyiegbu, remains one of the most influential businessmen in the South-East and has maintained close ties with political and business figures over the years.
