The federal lawmaker representing the Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun State at the National Assembly, Mr. Bamidele Salam, has donated 10 buses and 150 motorcycles to support the re-election campaign of Governor Ademola Adeleke ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

The donation was confirmed in a personal statement signed by Salam, a copy of which was made available in Osogbo on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the mobility equipment was provided to campaign coordinators operating within the Ede Federal Constituency to bolster their capacity to mobilise maximum support for Governor Adeleke at the polls.

The items were formally presented during the official launch of the Accord Party’s campaign across the federal constituency in Ede, Osun State. Salam, who serves as Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Imole Campaign Council, explained that the 10 buses and 150 motorcycles would be distributed among coordinators drawn from all 42 wards within the constituency.

He stated that the gesture was aimed at strengthening campaign logistics, facilitating door-to-door voter engagement, and deepening grassroots mobilisation efforts.

He also urged the beneficiaries, who are ward-level coordinators driving local campaign activities, to make responsible use of the vehicles.

Governor Adeleke’s elder sister, Mrs. Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni, commended the initiative and called on recipients to deploy the vehicles effectively while prioritising safety throughout the campaign period.

The Director-General of the Imole Campaign Council and Senate Minority Leader, Senator Lere Oyewumi, described the donation as a reflection of Salam’s genuine commitment to grassroots politics and party building, stressing that public office should be used as a platform to deliver meaningful and tangible impact to constituents.

In a similar vein, the Chairman of the Imole Campaign Council, Prof. Wale Oladipupo, who also inaugurated the campaign committee for the Ede Federal Constituency, urged members to redouble their efforts toward securing electoral victory, expressing strong confidence in Adeleke’s prospects at the polls.

The Federal Constituency campaign council is chaired by Elder Sunday Atidade Akande, with local government chairmen and party stakeholders serving as members.

Campaign activities for the forthcoming Osun State governorship election officially commenced on March 11, with various political parties actively engaging the electorate in the buildup to the poll.

Aside from Governor Adeleke, who is seeking a second term on the Accord Party platform, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is fielding Bola Oyebamiji, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has fielded Najeem Salaam.

Eleven other political parties are also fielding candidates in the election.
