Polaris Bank has announced a strategic partnership with the Cyclotron Cycling Development Initiatives, popularly known as the Cyclotron Club, to amplify its flagship “LiveWell by Polaris” wellness initiative.
The collaboration, according to the bank, unveiled on Tuesday at its headquarters in Lagos, aims to promote healthy living, preventive healthcare, and overall well-being among employees, customers, and communities across Nigeria. The partnership was symbolised by the launch of a co-branded jersey, marking a shared commitment to cause-driven advocacy through cycling.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Executive Director of Retail and Commercial Banking at Polaris Bank, Chris Ofikulu, highlighted that the move is a major milestone in the bank’s corporate social responsibility journey.
He said, “This partnership is a significant step in the evolution of LiveWell by Polaris and reflects our commitment to championing healthier lifestyles and meaningful social impact. By collaborating with Cyclotron Club and supporting their cause-based cycling campaigns, including the Ride for Autism, we are extending our CSR footprint while encouraging Nigerians to embrace wellness as a critical foundation for success.”
Ofikulu further emphasised that the bank views personal health as a driver of national productivity.
“Cycling is not only a globally recognised sport but also one of the most effective ways to stay physically fit. We are investing in the health and wellbeing of our people and the communities we serve because we firmly believe that health is wealth,” he added.
The Cyclotron Club, a non-profit association, consists of professionals from various sectors, including medicine, finance, and technology, who use cycling to raise awareness for social issues. Their “Lagos–Accra–Lagos Ride for Autism” has gained significant recognition for supporting families living with autism.
Also speaking, the Captain of the Cyclotron Club, Eziafakaku Nwokolo, commended the bank for its forward-thinking approach to community health.
He said, “We are delighted to partner with Polaris Bank, an institution that clearly values well-being and social impact. This collaboration will empower us to expand our advocacy efforts and support our professional cyclists to compete at both local and international levels.”
The “LiveWell by Polaris” programme was designed to move the conversation from reactive treatment to preventive healthcare. Through fitness challenges and health awareness campaigns, the bank aims to create value beyond traditional banking services.
The event concluded with a cycling skills demonstration by club members, showcasing the discipline and excellence required for the sport.
