According to residents, the couple argued after Auntie Esi accused her husband of withholding part of the proceeds from their business. Witnesses say the argument turned physical, with Blankson allegedly assaulting his wife during the confrontation.
Residents claim that later, while Blankson was asleep, Auntie Esi attacked him with a sharp object. He was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The incident has shocked the Ekumfi Asaman community, where the couple was known for selling charcoal as their main source of income. Police are said to have taken the woman into custody, though no official statement has been released by the Ghana Police Service at the time of reporting.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the mortuary pending autopsy and further investigations.
