It is raining cars this year for many celebrities, as Nigerian singer and songwriter Ahmed Ololade, better known as Asake, has acquired a new G-Wagon.
The Lonely At The Top singer has splashed millions on a 2026 G-Wagon with customised rims, ‘GR’.
The singer shared a video on his Snapchat page of the moment he took delivery of his new car.
The spirit of Ramadan, Asake had gifted his mother a G-Wagon for Ramadan.
Not done, he had surprised his father with a new car. In viral videos, the Lonely At The Top corner was captured, presenting the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser, to his father, who was in awe.
In an interview on Kortyeo, Asake recalled leaving his father’s house when his dad opposed the pursuit of his musical dream. He had said he had a close relationship with his father when they were younger, and revealed that his father was more stubborn than he was, so that he couldn’t look him in the face. Asake said he left home at 15 and was focused on where he was going, and no one could change his mind.
Asake and his mother had paid a courtesy visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, at his palace in Ile-Ife.
Sharing a clip of their visit, the Ooni expressed his happiness in welcoming Asake back home, noting that the Artist spent many of his formative years in Ife. He praised the singer’s mother for being a steadfast pillar and expressed his delight at welcoming her home.
After he visited the Ooni, Asake met with Ghana’s President, John Mahama at the Supercar event in Accra. The Nigerian singer was captured exchanging pleasantries with the president, who inquired if he was the one his citizens fired a gun at, and he responded passionately appealing for leniency, and calling for the release of the guy who was arrested for firing celebratory shots in his honour.
In an interview, Yemi Elesho had recounted his sweet memories with Asake, revealing that the singer had nothing back and he would always buy food for him.
In 2024, Asake parted ways with his boss, Olamide, and his label. According to reports online, Asake’s contract with Olamide’s YBNL expired, and when Olamide presented Asake with a new contract, Asake refused to sign. Olamide tried everything in his power to renew his label deal with Asake, but all his efforts were futile.
Asake is a prominent Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter known for his energetic fusion of Afro-fusion, Amapiano, and Fuji sounds.
He gained global recognition with hit songs such as “Mr Money” and “Omo Ope,” featuring Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Baddo.
