Nasir Bala Aminu-Ja’oji, a close associate of President Bola Tinubu, has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the House of Representatives seat representing Tarauni Federal Constituency in Kano State.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Sunday by Adamu Iliyasu-Hotoro, the Information Officer of Tarauni Local Government Area.

According to the statement, the Chairman of the Consensus Committee, Prof. Halilu Bello-Rogo, announced Aminu-Ja’oji as the party’s flag bearer at the end of a consensus meeting held at the APC Secretariat in Tarauni LGA.

Iliyasu-Hotoro explained that the committee officially endorsed Aminu-Ja’oji to represent the APC in the forthcoming House of Representatives election for Tarauni Federal Constituency.

He added that the committee strictly adhered to APC guidelines to ensure peace, unity, and harmony among party members during the process.

The committee also urged party supporters in Tarauni Local Government Area to remain united and support the candidate ahead of the election.

Representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission monitoring the reconciliation exercise, including Buhari Ahmed, Hajiya Nazifa Muhammad, and Bashir Tanimu-Saulawa, commended the peaceful conduct of the meeting.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Tarauni LGA, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim-Sekure, alongside the APC Chairman in the area, Sani Usman, reaffirmed their commitment to promoting unity within the party.

Security agencies present at the meeting included officials of the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Nigeria Police Force, alongside APC leaders and members from across the local government area.
