A disturbing video has gone viral showing a young woman being stripped naked by an angry mob at Oluode Market in Osogbo, Osun State. The woman was accused of stealing money from traders or customers in the busy market.
According to eyewitnesses, the lady was caught in the act or suspected of theft. Instead of handing her over to the police, some traders and bystanders beat her and removed her clothes in public, leaving her completely naked. The humiliating scene was filmed and shared widely on social media, sparking mixed reactions across Nigeria.
Many people condemned the jungle justice, saying it is wrong and inhuman no matter the offence. Others argued that thieves in markets deserve such treatment to serve as a deterrent to others. The video shows the woman looking ashamed and trying to cover herself while people shouted and took photos.
