A Civilian JTF member has been arrested for allegedly supplying food items to Boko Haram terrorists in the Northeast.
The suspect, whose name is yet to be released, was caught in the act while trying to deliver bags of food to the insurgents. Security sources say he was tracked and arrested by vigilant operatives who had been monitoring his movements for some time.
According to reports, the man used his position in the Civilian Joint Task Force to move freely in the area before he was nabbed. Items recovered from him included rice, beans, and other foodstuffs believed to be meant for Boko Haram fighters hiding in the bush.
The incident has sparked anger among residents who depend on the Civilian JTF for protection against the terrorists.On social media, Nigerians expressed shock and disappointment. One Twitter user, @BornoBoy2026, wrote: “This is pure betrayal! The same people we trust to fight Boko Haram are now feeding them. Sack all of them!”
Another comment from @NaijaTruth: “How many more like this one dey among us? This is why the war never end. Government, wake up!”
@LagosMama added: “Our boys dey risk their lives, but some people dey collect money from terrorists. Heartless!”The military has promised to investigate the matter thoroughly and punish anyone found guilty.
