Speaking to NgGossips, Havi’s uncle, Reverend Gerishom Andani of the Pentecostal Assemblies of God, said the young soldier had just returned home to visit his family when he suddenly passed away.

What happened to Kevin Havi?

Efforts to wake him proved futile, and the family immediately arranged to take him to the hospital.

“Upon arrival at Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu, he was pronounced dead. My nephew was not sick; he just died suddenly, and no one knows what happened to him,” said Rev Gerishom.

The grieving uncle noted that, owing to his military status, Havi’s body was airlifted to Nairobi and is currently preserved at Mashujaa Funeral Home at the Defence Forces Memorial Hospital in Mbagathi.

He further confirmed that a post-mortem examination will be conducted on Tuesday, June 16, to determine the cause of death.

Gerishom expressed his sorrow, describing his nephew as a promising young man with a bright future ahead of him.

“This has really hurt us as a family, but God cannot allow what He does not want to happen. It is very painful, but God has a reason. In everything, we still remember to thank Him,” he said.

He also recalled their fond memories together, revealing that he affectionately called Havi “Babu” or “Guga” and was immensely proud of him.

“After his parents did their best and sacrificed so much to educate him, he had finally reached a point where he wanted to give back and allow them to enjoy the fruits of their labour. Then this happened. We have lost a great military officer in our family. Rest in peace, Nephew Kevin Havi,” he said.
