The Chairman of the Control Committee of the 2026 National Beach Volleyball (Star/Open) Tour, Ibrahim Attahiru, has declared that Kaduna State is fully prepared to host the tournament, following a comprehensive inspection of facilities ahead of the competition.

Attahiru made the declaration on Friday, after assessing the tournament venue and related infrastructure, expressing satisfaction with the level of preparation put in place for the national event.

The tournament is scheduled to commence on Saturday, with athletes from across the country expected to compete for top honors in the highly anticipated beach volleyball championship.

Speaking after the inspection, Attahiru assured participating teams that all necessary arrangements had been made to guarantee a smooth and successful competition.

“Members of the control committee are on the ground to assess the level of preparation, and I can confidently assure you that Kaduna State is fully ready to host the Beach Volleyball (Star/Open) Tour,” he said.

“The players are the major actors of this tournament, and our priority is to ensure they are comfortable. The technical meeting will hold tomorrow, and matches will commence immediately after.”

The sports administrator emphasized that beyond the competition itself, the championship would serve as an important talent identification platform for future national assignments.

According to him, outstanding performers from the tournament could earn opportunities to represent Nigeria at upcoming continental competitions.

“We are expecting the best from the players because this tournament will serve as a platform for the commission to select players for upcoming African championships, including both age-grade and senior categories,” Attahiru added.

He urged athletes to demonstrate discipline, sportsmanship and professionalism throughout the competition while striving to deliver their best performances on the sand.

Attahiru also commended the President of the CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission, Musa Nimrod, for his commitment to the development and promotion of beach volleyball in Nigeria and across Africa.
