Retired Major General John Enenche has said Nigeria has not won any war against insurgency, terrorism, banditry, or kidnapping, and that the claim of remaining peace is misleading because the conflict is still growing, arguing that kidnappers are not the friends of any Nigerian.

General Enenche said bandits should not be treated as our brothers, calling for blanket surveillance across communities, a model he said he is testing in a pilot project. He urged political leaders and security chiefs to up their game through research, modification, and sustained engagement with field commanders.

In his words, “I want everybody to sit up right from the political masters. There is no peace. We have not won any war, and they are not our friends. They are not our brothers.”

“I want to categorically tell Nigerians and tell us, let us tell ourselves the truth, what kind of brother wants to kill you? So let us treat them as enemies, as enemies of Nigerians, simple, from all the nooks and crannies….Discover More
