Residents of Githunguri in Kiambu County are mourning after a boda boda rider identified as Kennedy Kamau Kabaiko died alongside his wife and child.

In the lengthy note, Kamau claimed that his troubles stemmed from a strained relationship with his brother, whom he accused of harbouring dislike towards him.

He disclosed that the tension had not only affected him but had also taken a toll on his wife and child.
Despite the grievances he expressed, Kamau’s final words revealed a desire for reconciliation and order among those he would leave behind.
How much was in Kamau’s phone?
He reportedly directed that welfare contributions collected after his death be given to his sister, who would then share a portion with his brother.
The instruction surprised some readers, considering the accusations he levelled against his sibling in the same letter.
The rider also left details of his savings, apparently hoping they would be accessed by family members.
“To anyone lucky to open my phone, there is KSh 203,000 on my M-Shwari lock account. The KCB joint account had almost KSh 20,000,” part of the note read.

Kamau’s Qatar dream died
Kamau went on to mention several relatives, including his sister-in-law Irene and his brother John, whom he accused of constantly fighting him.
In one of the most emotional sections of the letter, he sought forgiveness from his sister, Shiru, adding that he hoped to continue supporting her but felt he could no longer carry on.

The revelation that Kamau had been saving money to pursue employment opportunities abroad has added another layer of sadness to the tragedy.
He says the funds had been set aside to process documentation for a job opportunity in Qatar, a move he believed would transform his family’s future but will now remain unfulfilled.
How Githunguri deaths were discovered
According to a police report seen by NgGossips, the incident was reported at Githunguri Police Station at around 9.30am by Irene Nyokabi, a resident and a relative of the deceased family.
As news of the deaths spread across the area, residents expressed sorrow over the loss of a young family and the circumstances surrounding their final days.
The tragedy has left relatives, friends and neighbours grappling with grief, while questions linger about the events that led to the deaths and the anguish reflected in Kamau’s final message.
