According to a report by The Times Of Israel on June 6, 2026, Kuwait’s military says it is responding to “hostile” missile and drone attacks, days after an Iranian drone strike on the country’s international airport killed one person and wounded dozens. The statement was shared on X, with authorities noting that the origin of the attacks had not been immediately identified.

“Kuwaiti air defenses are currently responding to hostile missile and drone attacks,” the military says on X, without specifying their origin.

“The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces confirms that any explosions that may be heard are the result of air defense systems intercepting hostile attacks,” the Kuwait Army adds.

The military explained that its air defense systems were actively engaging incoming threats and intercepting them mid-air to prevent further damage. Officials did not immediately release details on the number of projectiles involved or the extent of any damage on the ground, as operations were still ongoing at the time of the statement.

Meanwhile, air raid sirens have been activated in the Gulf island kingdom of Bahrain, according to its interior ministry. The alerts prompted concern among residents as security agencies moved quickly to assess the situation and ensure public safety.

Bahraini authorities said emergency systems had been activated as a precautionary measure while monitoring continued developments across the region. Residents were urged to remain calm and follow official instructions issued through government channels.

Tensions in the Gulf have remained high following recent drone and missile incidents, with regional governments maintaining heightened security readiness and coordinating closely with defense partners to respond to any further escalation
