“Sylvester was an altar boy at St.Teresa Equator Catholic Church, Nanyuki, and the firstborn in a family of four children, one sister and three brothers. He was a young boy with a promising future whose life was cut short far too soon,” she said.

Community members have remembered the teenager as a respectful and promising student with strong ties to his church and school life. His death has left his family, friends, church members, and residents of Nanyuki in deep mourning.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under public discussion, with different accounts emerging from residents and officials. Authorities are yet to issue a detailed public statement confirming the exact sequence of events.

The incident has also reignited debate over policing methods during public demonstrations, with calls from some leaders and members of the public for restraint, accountability, and independent investigations whenever civilian lives are lost.

As the community comes to terms with the tragedy, messages of condolence continue to pour in across social media, with many expressing sorrow over the loss of a young life described as full of potential.
