The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority and 20 other Federal Government agencies have pledged to integrate into the Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform and the Federal Treasury e-Receipt system as part of efforts to improve transparency and accountability in government financial operations.

The commitment followed a meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday between the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Taiwo Oyedele, and the chief executive officers of the affected agencies.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NEPZA, Olufemi Ogunyemi.

According to the statement, the Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform was approved by the Federal Executive Council as part of the Federal Government’s efforts to eliminate financial leakages, curb fraud, and strengthen transparency in public finance management.

The statement read, “The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority and twenty other Federal Agencies have made a firm commitment to integrate and adopt the Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform and the Federal Treasury e-Receipt to improve overall transparency in Federal Government financial operations.

“The new Revenue Optimisation Platform was approved by the Federal Executive Council to eliminate day-to-day financial fraud and to advance the financial transparency initiative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.”

Addressing the agencies through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Muhammed Sanusi, the minister explained that the platform was designed to provide comprehensive monitoring of government revenues and expenditures.

He said the initiative would enhance accountability by ensuring that all financial transactions of government agencies are properly captured and monitored in real time.

Oyedele disclosed that 31 Ministries, Departments and Agencies had already been integrated into the platform, adding that the government was determined to ensure full compliance across the public sector.

He said, “A total of 31 MDAs had already gone live on the platform. Twenty-one more agencies are to be captured next, as the government is working assiduously to achieve 100 per cent financial probity before the end of the year.

“We therefore wish to encourage each of you to, without delay, key into this lofty government initiative to boost financial due process on all fronts.”

The minister stressed that effective deployment of the platform would help the government tackle revenue leakages, improve monitoring of public funds, and deepen confidence in public institutions.

Speaking on behalf of NEPZA, Ogunyemi said the authority was fully prepared to comply with the directive, noting that its existing digital financial architecture would support seamless integration into the system.

He said the agency viewed the initiative as an important step towards promoting transparency and accountability in government operations.

Ogunyemi stated, “We are encouraged and feel responsible to follow the Rev.OP. It is especially motivating to observe the president taking clear leadership and responsibility for this vital financial monitoring system, which will help push the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda forward.”

The Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform is one of the Federal Government’s key reforms aimed at improving revenue collection, reducing financial irregularities, and enhancing oversight of public finances.

REV-OP was officially launched on June 19, 2025, in Abuja by the former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, during a high-level meeting attended by representatives of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, and private-sector technology partners.

At the launch, Edun described the initiative as “a clean break” from previous revenue management systems, saying it was designed to create a more secure and accountable financial future for Nigeria.

The initiative aligns with the Tinubu administration’s fiscal reform agenda, which seeks to expand government revenues, improve efficiency in public spending, and strengthen transparency across Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

The wider adoption of the platform by government institutions could significantly improve revenue assurance and reduce opportunities for financial leakages in the public sector.

In addition to REV-OP, the Federal Government introduced the Federal Treasury e-Receipt, a digitally verifiable receipt system that links every payment made to government accounts with corresponding funds received.

The platform is also integrated with other reforms such as the Central Billing System, Treasury Management System, Revenue Monitoring Dashboard, and Revenue Splitting Engine to enable real-time monitoring and reconciliation of government revenues.
