Nigerian singer Niniola Apata has sparked reactions on social media after sharing a cryptic message following the service of songs held in honor of her late husband, Michael Ndika.
The Grammy-nominated artiste took to her Instagram story to express gratitude to family members, friends, and colleagues who have supported her during the difficult period.
However, one particular message caught the attention of fans and followers.
According to Niniola, death has a way of revealing people’s true character, suggesting that some relationships may not be as genuine as they appear.
“It’s better to have pure water run through your veins than blood that is supposed to be thicker,” she wrote, adding that “death lets you see people’s true form.”

While Niniola did not mention any names or provide further details, her remarks have fueled speculation among fans, with many interpreting the message as a reflection on the behavior of certain individuals following her husband’s passing.
The singer also used the opportunity to appreciate members of the Apata family, close friends, and colleagues who have stood by her and offered support during her time of grief.
