Since the day the inferno burnt down the place, parents kept running up and down trying to locate their children, and for those who lost their children, it sadly culminated in undergoing DNA tests to confirm if they had the correct bodies of their children.

Many of them have come out to eulogise the departed students, and one family in Ruiru shared that Neema did not just love God, but she also used to attend prayer retreat centres.

How was Neema preparing for KCSE?

“During holidays, she mostly visisted Vincentian Retreat Centre (VRC)F and she loved Christ; she knew Christ and no single Sunday did she miss going to church,”said her sister.

Neema’s sister said that the departed girl was 17 years old and a Form Four student, and she was a performer in her academics and had high hopes that she would pass her Kenyan Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

“She was a believer; she was calm and obedient and loved a silent space with no noise or distraction. A golden watch that she was given as a gift that made her happy. She had a future dream to fulfil; she left our hearts heartbroken with sorrow, not knowing the reason as to why that happened to her, a calm, generous soul,” said the loving sibling.
