  • Pastor Enoch Adeboye has suggested that the person who wrote a recent speech for President Tinubu may not have the President’s best interests at heart.
  • His remarks have sparked reactions online, with some Nigerians questioning why influential figures close to the President do not speak directly to him.

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, has sparked reactions online after commenting on a recent speech delivered by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking during a church programme, Adeboye suggested that the individual responsible for writing the President’s speech may not have his best interests at heart.

“The person who wrote President Tinubu’s speech does not like him… There are several people around my beloved in-law (Tinubu) who are not telling him the truth,” he said.

The comment quickly gained attention on social media, with Nigerians sharing mixed reactions about the pastor’s remarks and his relationship with the President.

In other news…. Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has expressed outrage over what he described as a violation of his privacy after his alleged voter information from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal was reportedly made public.

Ike, who contested for the House of Representatives seat for the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the Federal Capital Territory under the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), said the incident has left him shocked and concerned about data security.

The controversy followed reports that Lere Olayinka, media aide to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, allegedly shared screenshots online containing the actor’s voter registration details.

The leaked data was said to include sensitive personal information such as his voter identification number, application records, registration centre, passport photograph, and other details reportedly obtained from an INEC database.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, Ike condemned the incident, describing it as unacceptable and a serious breach of trust.

He faulted the ease with which such information was accessed and publicly circulated, saying it raises broader concerns about the protection of citizens’ personal data.

According to him, the issue goes beyond politics and reflects a dangerous disregard for privacy rights.

He said:

“It’s quite shocking, extreme and it is the height of  political rascality for a government officer to access a citizen’s information from the INEC cyber…”

Ike warned that allowing such actions to go unpunished could create a worrying precedent where citizens’ personal data is no longer secure.
