Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has written an open letter to Nigerian Youths over their bullying tactics.

Amid the insecurity in the country, she said bullying others, pointing fingers, cursing or tearing each other down will not bring a single hostage home. According to her, self-blame is not accountability; it decides what we need unity for the most.

She questioned what they have done with their own voices and platforms, noting how the majority of keypad warriors haven’t even made a statement or posted anything on their platforms, yet sit in the comfort of their homes and crucify celebrities.

“Fellow Nigerians,

The pain of the recent wave of kidnappings across our country is real. In moments like this, it is easy to turn inward and start blaming ourselves.

THE INSENSITIVES CALLING ANOTHER INSENSITIVE

Bullying ourselves, pointing fingers, cursing or tearing each other down will not bring a single hostage home. Self-blame is not accountability. It divides us when we need unity the most. The criminals who kidnap innocent children, students, farmers, and travellers are the ones responsible, not you or me. Our job as citizens is to stand together, support affected families, and demand action — not blaming each other. The exact distraction they are trying to create among the citizens

You are a voice!

I am a voice!

What have you done with your own voice and platforms???

Majority of you social media/keypad warriors have not even make a statement or post anything on your platform yet you seat at the comfort of your home, eating 3 square meals, going about your daily activities but you are on standby to crucify any celebrity who has or has not aired their opinions, Looking for who said it right or not or any celebrity who is going on with their own daily activities is regard as “INSENSITIVE”

With your 1-100, 1000-10,000, or 100,000-1,000,000 followers, Wetin do your own platforms? Wetin do you own voice?

Nigeria is already affecting everyone, directly or indirectly.
Stop bullying yourself or others for being victims of a broken system. Our strength has always been in our unity. Let’s direct our anger, frustration, and bitterness at the problem, not at each other. Let’s demand the right action, and let’s keep hope alive for every Nigerian still waiting to come home.

Enough said!
IRE OOO”.

A day ago, skitmaker and actor Kamo State had cancelled his birthday party. He noted how it would be insensitive of him and his team to organise a party when families are grieving their loved ones.

Lots of celebrities are getting backlash for being insensitive to the insecurity in the country.

Tems had come under fire for announcing the release of a new song. In her announcement, she said the song is what everyone needs. Her statement didn’t sit well with many, who mercilessly dragged her.

Jide Awobona had responded to the backlash he received over a video in which he spoke about the country’s insecurity. He admonished the public not to attack their fellow Nigerians, revealing that he received over a million comments, with people expressing anger, frustration, and even wishing he would become the target himself.

Singer, Davido had cleared the air about his relationship with Seyi Tinubu after being called performative for speaking out about the country’s insecurity. Davido said he isn’t part of the city boy group and has been friends with Seyi for years, and that won’t change. He revealed that he often calls the president’s son to complain, cursing the tweep.
