The African Business and Integrity Consultancy Services (ABICS) is set to host an online training programme titled “Getting Things Done Through Project Management: Plan Better, Execute Smarter, Deliver Results” on Friday, May 15, 2026.

The virtual training, which will hold via Zoom, is scheduled for 3:00pm to 7:00pm Nigerian time and 10:00am to 2:00pm Eastern Time in the United States.

The programme will feature renowned project management expert, Adedeji Badiru as Co-Presenter, while Tony Mayfield will serve as the Primary Instructor.

Tony Mayfield is a highly accomplished Systems Engineer and Engineering Manager with over 35 years of professional experience in mission-critical sectors, including the Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), and the Department of Defense (DoD), Renowned for his strategic leadership and technical excellence.

Professor Badiru is the Dean Emeritus, Graduate School of Engineering and Management at the USA Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), and is globally respected for his contributions to systems engineering, project management, and organisational leadership.

Speaking ahead of the training, Professor Badiru emphasized that project management principles are essential not only in business and corporate organizations but also in everyday life.

“Everything we do in life is a project that must be managed structurally and strategically to achieve the best results. Life itself is a complex project that if not managed well could result in disastrous outcomes,” he said.

According to him, the inspiration for the training stems from his lifelong commitment to applying project management approaches in managing personal and professional endeavors.

“I credit my personal successes to my use of project management. I want other people and corporations around me to do likewise because everybody benefits when all projects are managed successfully,” he stated.

Professor Badiru further explained that from a systems perspective, everything in life is interconnected, stressing that collective success benefits society as a whole.

“Success is contagious. We all do better when we are all on the same page,” he added.

Highlighting the benefits participants would gain from the programme, the project management scholar said attendees would acquire practical knowledge on planning and executing projects effectively, especially where multiple stakeholders are involved.

“Every participant will gain new knowledge of how to plan and execute projects, particularly when and where other individuals are involved or would be affected. Marriage is a good example of where a structured project management approach could be useful,” he explained.

On why many projects fail, Professor Badiru identified poor communication and lack of cooperation as major factors. He noted that this challenge inspired him to develop the widely acclaimed TRIPLE C Method.

“Most project failures have their roots in a lack of or deficiency in communication and cooperation. For this reason, I developed the very popular TRIPLE C Method, which requires explicit communication to elicit sustainable cooperation, which then facilitates an effective coordination of activities,” he said.

He warned that activity coordination without effective communication and sustained cooperation often leads to project failures, adding that he has witnessed such recurring problems in both corporate and national projects.

Professor Badiru also stressed that the practicality of the training distinguishes it from many conventional seminars.

“The practicality and case examples presented in this training makes it different and unique from other training programs. My own personal and career examples are motivational templates for others to emulate. I personally practice what I teach and I have results to show for it,” he said.
