Nairobi, Kenya: A young boy identified as Karanja from Dandora has shared how he used to live a difficult life with his siblings and dad after their mother’s death.
In a heartfelt video, Karanja shared how Bazuu moved him to a better house and eventually bought some of the furniture in the house.
“He bought us the clothes on our back and then changed our living conditions; he also got me a sponsor and I went back to school,” he said.

Many people sympathised with the fact that Karanja was left to care for the other four kids. Derrick Veteran Sultan said firstborn children rarely get the chance to grieve properly; the moment a parent dies, they become protectors, providers, counsellors, and role models overnight.
“They carry pressure nobody sees and silently sacrifice so younger siblings can still dream. Many suffer in silence, lose opportunities and break down privately while pretending to hold the family together,”he said.
“But despite everything, they continue fighting,not because they are unbreakable, but because love leaves them no other choice. And perhaps that is the quiet heroism of firstborns: they carry storms in their hearts so their siblings can still believe in sunshine,”he added.
