Nollywood actor and politician, Desmond Elliot, has expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for allowing party aspirants to test their popularity across their constituencies.

Elliot relayed the message in a video shared on his X handle on Sunday, where he addressed party members and residents of Surulere amid recent political developments within the APC in the area.

In the video, the lawmaker extended greetings to Surulere residents and thanked the party leadership for what he described as an open opportunity for aspirants to demonstrate their support base within their constituencies.

He specifically appreciated President Tinubu for creating what he portrayed as a fair atmosphere for political participation within the ruling party.

“First off, I want to say a very big thank you to our party leadership and most especially to our President… for allowing all candidates to test their popularity in their respective constituencies,” Elliot stated.

The politician, however, hinted at dissatisfaction over certain events that had unfolded within the APC in Surulere in recent weeks, suggesting that some internal party developments should not have occurred.

Although he did not go into details regarding the specific incidents, his comments have sparked discussions among supporters and political observers, particularly within Lagos political circles.

Elliot also used hashtags including #DOE, #Watimagbo, #Bibire, and #Desmondelliot in the social media post accompanying the video.

The development comes amid heightened political activities and consultations within the APC ahead of future elections and party restructuring efforts across different constituencies in Lagos State…See More
