Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, alongside his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, on Wednesday paid a visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, in Lagos during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The visit comes as President Tinubu continues his stay in Lagos for the Sallah festivities.
Sharing photos from the meeting on his official X page, Sanwo-Olu described the visit as an important moment to further strengthen the relationship between Lagos State and the Federal Government.
“Together with the Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, we visited His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our First Lady, HE Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as part of the Eid el Kabir celebrations,” the governor wrote.
Sanwo-Olu added that it is always a pleasure hosting the President in Lagos, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to national growth and the welfare of Nigerians.
“It is always a pleasure to have the President back home to Lagos, and an opportunity to reaffirm the working relationship between Lagos State and the Federal Government as we remain committed to national progress and the wellbeing of our people,” he stated.
President Tinubu had earlier joined Muslim faithful at Dodan Barracks in Lagos for Eid prayers alongside top government officials and political leaders.
Eid-el-Kabir, also known as Eid al-Adha, is one of the biggest Islamic celebrations observed by Muslims worldwide in remembrance of Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience and sacrifice.
