Governor Alex Otti has expressed gratitude to the people of Abia State as his administration marked its third anniversary with a thanksgiving service and the launch of key development projects across the state.

Speaking during a thanksgiving gathering held at an event centre near Okpara Square in Umuahia, Otti described the occasion as a moment of reflection on the administration’s journey and an opportunity to appreciate God’s faithfulness over the past three years.

The governor thanked the people of Abia, popularly referred to as Ndị Abia, for their trust, support, and encouragement, saying their partnership has remained central to the progress recorded by his administration.

He also acknowledged the contributions of religious leaders, particularly Brother Emma Okorie, President of Living Word Ministries International, alongside other clerics whose prayers and support, according to him, have remained a source of strength since the beginning of his political journey in 2014.

Otti stated that his commitment to serving God alongside his family has remained the foundation of the successes achieved during his administration.

As part of activities marking the anniversary, the governor proceeded to Umuagu Ibeku where he fulfilled a personal vow by flagging off the construction of a 1,000-seat Ecumenical Centre. He explained that the project, linked to a property acquired in 2009, is a personal covenant and would be funded entirely with private resources rather than government funds.

The governor later moved to Laguru in Ubakala, Umuahia South, where he simultaneously flagged off the rehabilitation of the ₦1.3 billion Ubakala Water Scheme and Ariaria Water Scheme in Aba. The projects are expected to improve access to clean and safe water for residents.

Otti reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to continued development, expressing optimism that with divine guidance and the support of the people, Abia State would achieve greater progress in the years ahead.
