Former Senator Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe has dismissed reports claiming he has withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary race in Kwara State, insisting he is still very much in the contest.

Oloriegbe said the reports making the rounds were “false and misleading,” stressing that he has not stepped down for any aspirant and has not endorsed anyone ahead of the party’s primary.

According to him, his decision to run is driven by a strong conviction to offer competent and inclusive leadership that will move Kwara State forward.

“I remain fully in the race for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress and have neither withdrawn my aspiration nor endorsed any aspirant,” he said.

He urged APC delegates and supporters across the state to turn out en masse for the primary election scheduled for Friday, May 22, 2026, while calling for peace and order during the process.

Oloriegbe also emphasized that internal democracy and unity within the party must be protected, saying the outcome of the primary should reflect the will of party members.

“This moment is about the future of Kwara State and the shared vision we collectively believe in,” he added.

The clarification comes amid growing tension and last-minute political manoeuvring within the Kwara APC ahead of the governorship primary, with multiple reports of withdrawals and endorsements circulating across the state.
