Attorney Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and a Nigerian lawyer, has suggested that the South South and Southeast geopolitical zones have the opportunity to stop their political marginalisation in 2027 by aligning themselves with the North against President Bola Tinubu.………
In an interview with Channels TV, Okonkwo stated, “The South South and Southeast are going to vote differently than they did in 2015, when Goodluck Jonathan lost the election in part because of the South South and Southeast and how they voted.” The fact that they did not align with the presidents that came before them has resulted in their marginalisation. When the South South and the Southeast get together with the North in 2027, they will be victorious in the Tinubu election. They will be able to put a stop to their marginalisation if they are successful in winning Tinubu.
During his speech, Okonkwo also discussed the internal procedure of the ADC. He described an open-door policy in which any candidates who are interested in running for office would be permitted to do so. The entire coalition would support the candidate who emerged victorious.
In order to provide evidence for his trust in that approach, he referred to the past. He mentioned that the same method had been successful in achieving victories in both 2015 and 2023, and he expressed his solid belief that it would give the same result in 2027.
