According to a video posted on YouTube by S24 Television on Sunday, May 17, 2026, Former House of Representatives aspirant for Sabon Gari Local Government Area, Muhammad Sadisu Buba, has strongly hit back at critics questioning his suitability for political office, declaring that true leadership is defined by vision, competence, and intellect rather than age or physical stature.
Speaking during a live interview, Buba addressed a wave of social media commentary that has recently targeted his youth and appearance.
Buba dismissed the online scrutiny, arguing that the public discourse is too often derailed by superficial traits.
He emphasized that what the electorate truly deserves are leaders armed with concrete blueprints, solid qualifications, and a genuine commitment to public service.
“It’s not by age if you have opinion, if you have what you will do for people or you have all your certificates,” Buba stated firmly during the broadcast. “That’s what we need, we don’t need age. Age is just a number.”
The former aspirant urged citizens to shift their focus toward criteria that yield actual governance results, such as policy proposals and educational background, rather than a candidate’s birth year.
Beyond the critiques regarding his youth, Buba also directly tackled remarks concerning his height. He maintained that physical appearance has absolutely no bearing on an individual’s capacity to govern effectively or represent a constituency.
According to Buba, history is filled with leaders who did not fit traditional societal expectations but still achieved extraordinary results through sheer dedication and hard work.
He noted that regular Nigerians are far more interested in tangible dividends of democracy such as good representation, infrastructural development, and strict accountability than the personal physical traits of politicians.
