The Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, has ordered the remand of social media personality and self-acclaimed relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The order relates to an alleged N36 million fraud case currently before the court.

According to proceedings at the court, Blessing CEO was arraigned over charges connected to the alleged fraud. The prosecution presented its case before the judge, who subsequently directed that she be remanded in EFCC custody pending further hearing. The matter was adjourned to allow for continuation of proceedings.

Blessing CEO is known for her presence on social media, where she discusses relationships and personal development and has built a significant following. Her arrest and arraignment have drawn widespread attention online, with reactions ranging from surprise to calls for due process.

The EFCC has not released detailed information on the specifics of the alleged transaction or how the N36 million is said to have been obtained. The case is still at an early stage, and no plea has been taken on the merits of the allegations. Under Nigerian law, an accused person is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.

Court proceedings of this nature typically involve the presentation of evidence, examination of witnesses, and arguments from both prosecution and defence counsel. The remand order allows the EFCC to keep the defendant in custody while investigations and legal processes continue.

The case adds to a number of high-profile matters involving public figures and allegations of financial misconduct that have come before Nigerian courts in recent years. Legal analysts note that such cases often highlight the role of digital platforms in both building public profiles and drawing regulatory scrutiny….See More
