According to a report by Punch Newspaper on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, a graduate of the University of Jos, identified as John Arum Azi, has recounted his experience during a recent testimony shared in a church service held in Tudun Wada, within Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

He spoke about events he said unfolded in a violent and frightening atmosphere that left a lasting impression on him.

The testimony was delivered during a Sunday service, where congregants gathered for worship and personal accounts of faith experiences.

Azi used the platform to narrate what he described as a disturbing encounter that occurred after he was invited to share his story before the church congregation.

According to him, the situation began with what appeared to be a legitimate opportunity for employment in welding.

He explained that he was contacted and informed about a job that required his skills, and at first, the arrangement seemed genuine and normal, he said he proceeded with expectations that it was a routine work engagement.

He further stated that after reaching the location linked to the job offer, the situation changed abruptly.

He described that the environment became chaotic and unsafe, with unexpected developments that made it clear to him that the job arrangement had been orchestrated under false pretenses.

The circumstances, as he recounted, quickly shifted from a work-related engagement to a threatening experience.

Azi explained that during the incident, there was an outbreak of gunfire, which created panic and confusion in the area.

He noted that the intensity of the situation forced those present to react in fear, as the sudden violence disrupted any sense of safety he initially believed existed when he arrived for the supposed job.

He also explained that in the midst of the confusion, fear influenced his immediate response.

He stated that he initially denied being a Christian because he believed that acknowledging his faith could put him at greater risk during the violent episode.

He added that the pressure of the moment shaped his reaction as he tried to navigate the dangerous environment.

The testimony was shared as part of his personal account during the church service, where he detailed how the events unfolded from the initial contact about a welding job to the frightening situation he encountered afterward.
