Blessing Atiti, a rape victim, has stated that she and her friend were raped after attending a Christmas Eve party in Benin City in 1991
In an interview with Biola Adebayo Ent, Atiti said three young men lured her and her friend outside the party venue and took them to an unfinished building in an isolated area nearby
Atiti stated that the men raped them and jubilated proudly as if they had done something good. She said she later drank a substance to avoid getting pregnant, but she still got pregnant
