The Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) has inaugurated the Senior and Mid Level Entrepreneurship and Management Course 18/2026 aimed at preparing military personnel for productive post-service careers.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the Centre in Oshodi, Lagos, with senior military officials, facilitators, and participants in attendance.

Commandant of NAFRC, Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo, described the programme as a prestigious initiative designed to equip officers with entrepreneurial, managerial, and leadership skills.

He stated that the course would expose participants to the realities of the civilian business environment and prepare them for rewarding ventures after retirement from active military service.

According to AVM Ilo, the training is structured to enhance decision-making abilities while promoting innovation, resilience, and adaptability among participants.

The Commandant expressed appreciation to the Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, and the Chief of Defence Intelligence for approving the nominations of officers for the programme.

He also commended the Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting the initiative and providing the resources needed for its successful implementation.

AVM Ilo further praised Onari Duke for facilitating the partnership that introduced the entrepreneurship programme to the Armed Forces.

He noted that the initiative would help officers make adequate preparations for life beyond military service and contribute meaningfully to national development.

Special Guest of Honour, Abubakar Sule, applauded NAFRC for transforming from a traditional resettlement institution into a centre for entrepreneurship development and managerial capacity building.

Sule stressed that entrepreneurship has become essential in driving economic growth, self-reliance, and job creation in today’s competitive society.

He urged participants to embrace discipline, innovation, commitment, integrity, and accountability throughout the training programme.

The guest speaker further encouraged the officers to see themselves not as job seekers but as future job creators capable of building successful enterprises.

Speaking on behalf of the Empretec Nigeria Foundation Country Representative, Lemmy Omololu explained that the programme was designed to help officers convert military experience into enterprise and innovation.

Omololu revealed that participants would undergo expert led lectures, workshops, peer learning sessions, and study tours to organisations including Spectra Industries, Songhai Farm, the Nigerian Conservation Centre, and Cormat.

He added that the curriculum for senior officers focuses on strategic leadership, project management, corporate governance, profitability, and conflict resolution, while the mid-level officers’ programme covers emotional intelligence, wellness, legal frameworks, and customer engagement.
