One of the aspirants in the just concluded All Progressives Congress governorship primary election in Nasarawa State, Hassan Liman, has cautioned his supporters and those of other aspirants against engaging in any act capable of disrupting the peace currently being enjoyed in the state.

During the primary election, Liman, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, scored 863 votes, while Senator Ahmed Wadada scored 195,285 votes, and former Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu polled 39,675 votes, among others who participated in the process.

Speaking with journalists on Saturday in Lafia, the state capital, the aspirant noted that, by the declaration of the results, Wadada is now the duly elected flag bearer of the APC in the state.

He added that it is the duty of all party stakeholders and members to support him to succeed in the 2027 general election.

While describing peace as “the bedrock of everything in society,” Liman urged those who may not be satisfied with the governorship primary to follow due process in seeking redress.

Liman further urged every member and supporter of the APC to align themselves with the flag bearer, noting that “power is given by God, and He gives it to the person He wants at the time He wants.”

He added, “I therefore call on all Nasarawa State citizens, especially members of our great party, to be law-abiding and be peaceful in the way and manner they conduct themselves. There is no alternative to peace. Peace is the bedrock of everything in society.

“I urge our teeming supporters and the entire people of Nasarawa State that we should ensure that we follow due process and ensure that our flag bearer, Senator Ahmed Wadada, is duly elected as the next governor in 2027.

“I remain a committed party member and will ensure that whatever we are going to do, we are going to follow due process and ensure that our party wins the coming elections.

“Therefore, I urge each and every one of us to remain calm, and ensure that we do things that will bring prosperity and peace to our great Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large.”
