Popular Kaduna APC Aspirant Accused of Faking Age as Documents Reveal He’s 15

Mahmud Sadisu Buba, a prominent House of Representatives aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been dragged before a court over the alleged falsification of his age, National Identification Number (NIN), and academic credentials.

The politician, widely known in Kaduna political circles as “Abin Al’ajabi Zazzau,” is currently seeking to represent the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency.

He recently made headlines while confidently addressing the APC screening committee, where he strongly affirmed that his age met the constitutional minimum required to contest for a seat in the National Assembly.

During the screening exercise, Buba also seized the opportunity to highlight his various community development initiatives to the committee members.

However, his political ambitions are now facing a severe threat as political opponents have filed a formal petition challenging his eligibility.

The aggrieved opponents backed their petition with official documents, including his international passport, National Identification Number (NIN) registration details, and a hospital birth certificate. All the attached documents explicitly list his date of birth as August 27, 2010, which effectively makes the aspirant just 15 years old, contrary to his claims of being 30 years old.

Furthermore, the petitioners presented evidence showing his recent enrollment as a junior secondary school student. It was gathered that as of last year, the politician was still a student at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Demonstration School before he eventually dropped out to pursue his political career.

The controversy has deepened as a family member took to social media to confirm the authenticity of the leaked documents. The relative openly criticized the situation, describing the political run as a clear exploitation of a minor.

This fierce eligibility dispute continues to escalate ahead of the rescheduled APC primary elections slated for May 16, and party insiders hint that the development could lead to his outright disqualification from the race.
