Francis Sardauna in Katsina

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has directed political appointees to return to their respective local government areas for the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections ahead of the 2027 general election.

He gave the directive yesterday during the State Executive Council Meeting held at the newly inaugurated digital Council Chamber of the Katsina State Government House.

The newly inaugurated chamber features paperless operations, remote conferencing capabilities, synchronised smart audio systems, and a fully integrated digital platform designed to enhance efficiency in government business.

Under the digitalised system, each chief executive will be provided with a modern computer workstation equipped with official government email accounts and e-governance applications to improve communication, coordination, and decision-making across ministries and agencies.

Radda directed the all appointees to immediately return to their various local government areas to oversee and participate in the exercises as required by the party leadership.

He stressed the need for peaceful and orderly conduct during the screening and primary election exercises scheduled for this month.

He added that the success of the primary elections would depend largely on the commitment of APC members and stakeholders at the grassroots level.

He urged all political appointees and party members to actively participate in the process while ensuring peace and unity within the party ranks.

“This month of May is a period we will all be engaged in party activities, from screening exercises to primary elections for our flagbearers for the 2027 elections. We expect all of you to participate actively and ensure peace is maintained throughout the process.

“So we hope that you participate in the exercise to ensure that peace is maintained and all of you should retire to your various local governments for the exercise as mandated,” Radda said.
