President Donald Trump discussed his recent summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, along with issues involving Taiwan, manufacturing policy, and the expanding role of artificial intelligence during an interview aired on Fox News.

During the interview, Trump stated, “We are leading China by a lot. I gave the right for AI to build their own electric-producing plants. That’s a big deal. They can manufacture their own electricity now, which we could have never gotten from the grid.”

He also reflected on broader U.S.–China relations following the summit, pointing to ongoing competition in trade, technology, and industrial capacity. According to him, the United States is strengthening its position by boosting domestic manufacturing and reducing dependence on foreign supply chains, especially in high-tech sectors such as artificial intelligence and semiconductor production.

Trump further referenced Taiwan in the context of wider geopolitical tensions in the Indo-Pacific region. He suggested that technological advancement and industrial strength remain key pillars of U.S. strategy in managing its relationship with China and maintaining global influence.

The remarks came amid continued focus on how Washington and Beijing are navigating economic rivalry and strategic concerns. Issues such as tariffs, technology transfers, and national security remain central to discussions between the two countries.

Both nations are expected to continue diplomatic engagement while pursuing their respective economic and technological priorities in an effort to balance competition with stability in global markets….See More
