With the June 20 date for the Ekiti State governorship election fast approaching, the African Democratic Congress national body has expressed readiness to step up the mobilisation of eligible residents to vote for its candidate, Dare Bejide, with a door-to-door campaign.

The ADC, while setting up committees for the Ekiti election, specifically saddled the contact and mobilisation committee with the responsibility, urging the members to dwell on the party manifesto on education, healthcare, agriculture, and youth employment, among others.

The ADC national body, in a statement made available in Ado Ekiti on Sunday by the Director of Media and Publicity of Dare Bejide Campaign Council, Chief Gboyega Aribisogan, charged the committees to play their part in ensuring the party’s victory.

It stated, “The Contact and Mobilisation Committee has been tasked with voter sensitisation and door-to-door engagement as focus will be on explaining the ADC’s manifesto and addressing concerns around education, healthcare, agriculture and youth employment.”

The ADC stated that the constitution of the national campaign council and different campaign committees comprising over 100 members was “to coordinate grassroots outreach, media engagement and policy communication as the election approaches.”

They included the campaign council, media and publicity committee, contact and mobilisation committee, policy and protocol, youth and women engagement committee.

The ADC noted that “the party settled on a decentralised structure to ensure that campaign activities reflected local issues.

Each committee, according to the party, has a clear mandate, while local coordinators are allowed to adapt strategies to the realities in their areas.

“The media and publicity committee will manage press relations, social media, and broadcast appearances.

“The policy and manifesto committee is expected to break down the ADC’s campaign promises into sector-specific proposals. Members of the committee include professionals in education, health, and engineering, who will help translate policy ideas into actionable plans for the state.

“Youth and women leaders are given prominent roles in the new structure as they will organise rallies, voter education sessions, and programmes aimed at giving the party victory at the governorship poll.

“Logistics and security sub-committees have been set up to coordinate the movement of campaign materials and ensure compliance with electoral guidelines.

“The party is working with relevant agencies to ensure peaceful conduct before and during the election,” the statement added.
