The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has confirmed a power outage affecting parts of the Federal Capital Territory and Nasarawa State following a technical fault on the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) 132kV Apo–Karu line 1.

The disco made this known in a notice issued on Wednesday, stating that the fault disrupted bulk electricity supply across several locations in both states.

Affected areas include Karu, Nyanya, Jikwoyi, Kurudu, Orozo, Karshi, Mararaba, Ado, New Nyanya, New Karu, Uke, Masaka, Auta Balifi, Keffi, Nasarawa, Toto, Akwanga, Nasarawa Eggon and surrounding communities.

AEDC assured residents that efforts were ongoing to restore supply as quickly as possible.

“The technical team of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is currently working to restore power supply around 3:00 pm today, 10th June 2026,” the company said.

It added:
“We regret the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding.”

The company did not give a definite timeline for full restoration but assured customers that engineers were working to resolve the fault.
