Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa of aFederal High Court, Lagos has granted an interim Mareva injunction freezing bank accounts linked to PWAN Group Limited over alleged unpaid sum of N7.5 million, pending the determination of a petition before the court.

Justice Lewis-Allagoa made the order while granting an Exparte motion with suit number FHC/L/PET/1/2026, filed by businesswoman Anita Okereke against the real estate company.

Banks affected by the orders are: Access Bank Plc, Citibank Nigeria Ltd, Eco Bank Nigeria Ltd, Fidelity Bank Limited, First Bank of Nigeria Plc, First City Monument Bank, Globus Bank Limited, Guaranty Trust Bank Limited, Jaiz Bank Limited, Keystone Bank Limited, Parallex Bank Limited, Polaris Bank Limited and Providus Bank Limited.

Others are: Stanbic Ibtc Bank Nigeria Ltd, Standard Chartered Bank Ltd, Sterling Bank Plc, Suntrust Bank Nigeria Limited, Tajbank Limited, United Bank for Africa Ltd, Unity Bank Plc, Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, Wema Bank Plc, Zenith Bank Plc, Kuda Microfinance Bank Limited, Moniepoint Microfinance Limited, Cowrywise Financial Technology Limited, Opay Digital Limited, Palmpay Limited, Titan Trust Bank Limited and Premium Trust Bank Limited.

Okereke had sought the orders restraining PWAN Group Limited from dealing with, transferring, dissipating, or otherwise interfering with funds standing to its credit in accounts maintained with several commercial banks and financial institutions across Nigeria.

The application, dated and filed on May 6, 2026, requested the court to preserve assets up to the sum of N7.5 million pending the hearing and determination of the substantive matter.

After reviewing the affidavit in support of the motion and hearing submissions from the applicant’s counsel, P.C. Linus Esq., the court granted the requested reliefs.

In his ruling, Justice Lewis-Allagoa ordered that PWAN Group Limited, its agents, privies, or assigns be restrained from operating or interfering with funds in accounts linked to the company up to the value of N7.5 million.

The court further directed the affected banks and financial institutions to file affidavits of compliance disclosing the current credit balances in any accounts belonging to the respondent as of the date of the order.

Additionally, all banks and financial institutions within Nigeria, including the petitioner’s bank, were ordered to freeze the respondent’s accounts to the extent of the disputed amount.

Justice Lewis-Allagoa subsequently adjourned the case until July 2, 2026, for hearing further arguments from the parties regarding the dispute and the continuation or discharge of the interim orders.
