Who are the Tenri Schools candidates?

The election has attracted four candidates, among them Allan Njue, Sally Mwende, Nevina and Kingsley, and they are between the ages of 12 and 14 years old.

On his part, Allan Njue told TV47 that he would like to be the president because of the diligence that he portrays and the commitment to the people of Tenri.

“I could not have done this if it weren’t for my team and all my fans,”said the young man who shared that former President Uhuru Kenyatta is a role model because he led well and has been helping the people in hopsitals and the needy.

Sally Mwende, on the other hand, brought out the issue of gender in politics and was categorical that what a boy can do, a girl can do better.

“I encourage them; I stand here as their role model today,” said Mwende, who also idolises Suba North Member of Parliament (MP) Millie Odhiambo for her determination and confidence.

“She encourages me in the leadership so when I watch her and see what she does, I get encouraged,”said Mwende .

Kingsley, whose dad is the Kiambere Ward Member of the Embu County Assembly, said that for him, it runs in the blood, and he knows he will lead his people as an example, as his dad is his model.

Nevina is keen on the school having peer classes and said that she loves Embakasi East MP Babu Owino for his confidence, love for justice and being able to deliver words in the court.

“I love justice myself,” she said.

What about the Kenyan voters?

Speaking to NgGossips the director of the school, identified as James Njogu, said that although this is not the first time that they are conducting their elections in public, this time they are stunned that it has gone viral.

Many Kenyans are hooked on the short but engaging videos, taglines such as ‘Alo, Alo’ and the happy-go-lucky attitude of the young ones, which is a welcome escape from other depressing items grabbing headlines.

According to Njogu, the election brings out CBC fundamentals such as collaboration and connection, as you cannot win if you cannot work with others and mobilise people to vote for you. He explained that the learners applied to run for the position and were picked, then started the campaign.

“CBC requires learners to be empowered democratically;it also requires critical thinking and problem solving ,” he said.

To bring in the human resources aspect into the process, the school will bring in the independent Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to oversee the election.

“The election was slated for June 11, 2026, but the IEBC is set to confirm the date depending on the availability of the officers,”said Njogu.

While the elections are for Tenri Schools, they are not blind to the fact that Kenyans are also invested in the election and will offer netizens an opportunity to vote as well.

“We don’t want to leave our fans in the cold. They will vote online, and the one who wins will be the people’s president. We will have a link on this Friday,” he said.

How do the kids get campaign money?

Njogu was emphatic that the many friends, parents, online friends and companies have come out to support the young ones, and they are very grateful for that.
