The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has distributed N2.26 trillion among the Federal Government, states and local government councils as revenue for April 2026, marking an increase of N217 billion compared to the previous month’s allocation.

The figure represents a 10.6 per cent rise from the N2.04 trillion shared in March 2026 and was confirmed in a statement issued on Monday by the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.

According to the statement, the total distributable revenue for April comprised N1.260 trillion from statutory revenue, N747.088 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), and N250 billion in augmentation.

A breakdown of the allocation showed that the Federal Government received N787.351 billion, states got N772.360 billion, while local government councils received N540.152 billion. Oil-producing states also shared N157.254 billion as 13 per cent derivation.

From the statutory revenue component alone, the federal government received N580.942 billion, states got N294.661 billion, and local governments received N227.172 billion.

Under VAT, the Federal Government received N74.709 billion, states got N410.898 billion, and local government councils received N261.481 billion.

The communiqué further revealed that gross revenue available for the month stood at N3.184 trillion, from which N113.756 billion was deducted as cost of collection, while N813.839 billion was accounted for as transfers, refunds and savings.

It added that the revenue performance was driven largely by stronger collections from Companies Income Tax, import duties, VAT, and oil and gas royalties, which helped offset declines in Petroleum Profit Tax and Hydrocarbon Tax.

FAAC noted that the increase in both statutory and VAT collections contributed significantly to the higher distributable revenue, despite persistent fiscal pressures facing the three tiers of government.
