A large fire broke out at Jordan Lobster Farms, a well-known seafood restaurant and market in Island Park, New York, on Saturday evening.
Initial reports indicated that firefighters encountered flames on both floors of the two-story building and requested mutual aid as crews worked to contain the blaze.
According to the alert, firefighters were dispatched to 1 Pettit Place shortly after 7 p.m. local time. Responders reported a working fire inside the restaurant, leading officials to upgrade the incident to a second alarm.

Fire spreads through both floors
Emergency dispatch information indicated that the fire affected both levels of the structure. The extent of the damage was not immediately known. Officials had not yet released information regarding the cause of the fire or whether anyone was injured.
Residents reported the fire being “pretty bad.” A user on X wrote, “Looks pretty bad. They’ve been on the roof for a little over an hour.”

Images and videos circulating on social media showed a significant emergency response around the property. However, authorities had not confirmed the authenticity of all footage by the time of publication.

Jordan Lobster Farms sits along Reynolds Channel in Nassau County and is one of Long Island’s best-known seafood destinations. The business has operated for decades and attracts residents and visitors seeking fresh seafood, lobster dinners and waterfront dining.
A user on X said the restaurant is an icon and wrote, “A long Island icon is burning down!!! Jordan Lobster Farm!!!”
Heather on X wrote, “We go there every New Year’s to get lobster and other stuff for a seafood fest.”
