Three police officers were shot at N 54th and Arlington streets in Wynnefield, police said, according to CBS News. The victims were rushed to Penn Presbyterian Hospital. Sources told Action News that they are in stable condition.
The suspect was pronounced dead at Jefferson Hospital, per 6ABC. A weapon was recovered.

The shooting in Philadelphia reportedly took place at N 54th and Arlington streets around 10:30 p, Saturday night. Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said that officers were responding to a shooting incident where a car was shot up, and that is when an individual began “engaging them multiple times.”
According to Comm. Bethel, officers told the shooter to stand down multiple times, but he refused, and continued to engage them. Bethel said that around 10:45 pm, the officers went to arrest the individual and while the process was on, he drew a weapon. There was then an exchange of gunfire.

Bethel said that four officers discharged their weapons. Mayor Cherelle Parker revealed that one officer was shot in the face, one in the hip, and another was shot in the leg.
Parker wrote in an X post, “I am a praying Mayor, Philadelphia, and I know that prayer works. I know it works because three @PhillyPolice officers were shot in the line of duty tonight, one in the face, one in the hip, one in the leg, and yet by the grace of God, all of them are in stable condition. We’ll keep everyone posted. You’ll get more details from Philadelphia Police in the days to come.”
Parker added, “These officers are husbands and fathers, sons and brothers, and they almost didn’t make it home tonight. Our Officers put their lives on the line every day. They go to work, and they don’t know if they’ll even come home when their shift is over. I want everyone to keep them in prayer tonight, and remember their Sacrifice for our City.”
The suspect, 59, was shot and taken to the hospital. He was pronounced dead at 11:08 pm.
