The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspected cultists and alleged hitmen linked to a series of violent crimes and killings in Ajanmgbadi, Ojo Local Government Area, and surrounding communities.

The suspects, identified as Emmanuel Nwokolo, popularly known as “Oblo,” Ayola Israel, alias “Essy Pawpaw,” Ebuka Nnamdi, and Chinedu Okafor, were apprehended during an operation at a hotel in Ajanmgbadi following intelligence gathered by police operatives.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, preliminary investigations uncovered evidence allegedly connecting the suspects to several violent criminal activities in the area.

Police said a video recovered from one of the suspects’ mobile phones allegedly showed the killing of unidentified persons within Ajanmgbadi and neighbouring communities. During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to being members of the Aiye Confraternity and admitted involvement in acts of violence that had terrorised residents.

Further searches conducted by operatives led to the recovery of two locally fabricated pistols, one revolver pistol, and 13 live cartridges believed to have been used in criminal operations.

The police said investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspects’ activities, identify other members of the gang, and apprehend additional accomplices.
