CP Ahmed Sanusi, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, has stated that he personally led a joint security team that rescued some kidnapped victims in the Byazhin forest area of Abuja.
In a video shared by Channels Television, CP Sanusi said he and his team stayed in the forest for four days while tracking kidnappers operating in the area
CP Sanusi said on June 9, 2026, they saw some kidnappers in the forest with kidnap victims. He said they killed two kidnappers, arrested two and several others escaped with bullet wounds.
CP Sanusi also stated that all the kidnapped victims were successfully rescued. He said his joint security team slaughtered a ram and had a party on the same day in the forest
In Sanusi’s words: “Yesterday we even did a party, we slaughtered ram and enjoyed ourselves. So we are happy being here. The kidnappers have been coming in from this area, we got our proper intel and activated it. We came here waiting for them, luck ran against them.
