“As a parent, when I first saw her, I couldn’t recognise her as her body had decomposed and she had been beaten, so her body was swollen. We asked for the dress she was found in and saw that it was our daughter’s,”he said.

Richard also shared that they shared a close relationship with his daughter, and the last conversation they had was of her reminding him of the Lent season and how they were supposed to observe it. He also shared about the relationship they had where he used to send her things related to her from the internet, but when he last sent her something, she didn’t reply, and he got concerned.

Alice Rianga’s father said: “My child is gone and I can’t bring her back, and there will never be a day I’ll get her back. How long will this continue? And the government has every means to know who is destroying the future generations.”

“Government to bor kod wachni owada. May you just have not been out here to see how immorality has dominated these higher learning institutions. Leave alone comrades stretch for survival, fine, that in some measure we might give a partly understanding. But nitie moko ma they are not clinging on these sheepy affairs for survival, gin gintie e iye kanyo for parties and patnering leisures za kiholelaholela. Not the Government, Not the comrades themselves can solve this filth, but jus God to shower His protection upon our Sisters & Brothers out here.”

David Tobias

“The dad at last, it’s called being a man, you show up in most difficult circumstances. Flowers to him for coming to show love for Alice.”

Anonymous participant 353:

“Hapana, men stop killing our young girls. People date all kinds of people, whether rich or poor any of them can be a killer.”

Mrs Eveleen Mitei

“The arrest of a suspect in such a tragic case marks an important step in the pursuit of justice and accountability. Violent crimes against students strike at the heart of public safety and demand thorough, transparent investigations. Cross-border elements in such cases also highlight the need for strengthened regional cooperation in law enforcement. Above all, justice must be pursued diligently to ensure truth is established and public confidence is restored.”
