How did Dr Obwaka meet his wife?

During the memorial mass, the grieving widow shared a brief history of their 46-year marriage, revealing she met Dr Obwaka in Machakos County.

“I was doing nothing at that time when I met him in the theatre. I was a small girl, slim and beautiful. He had come there to do his postgraduate…He saw me, and I also saw him, so we saw each other, and the rest is history,” she said amid laughter from mourners.

Everose cracked mourners as she took a trip memory down lane, talking about their marriage, and how she handled the veteran gynaecologist and obstetrician.

“When I wanted something from him, I would call him Dr J, but when I was unhappy, I would call him daddy… We lived a happy life, but as you know, there’s no road without bumps….that is how our life was,” she shared amidst laughter.

She narrated that they briefly worked at Kenyatta National Hospital before they were transferred to Kisii. Everose narrated how she gave birth to four children in four years, leaving mourners in stitches.

“I thank him for loving me for real. Those who are looking for spouses do not marry for anything else. Marry for love, and that is how your relationship will last long,” she said.

“He was smart and had a car, and the things he did for me made me fall in love. The smart guy, the guy with a good car, the guy with money in his pocket. Who wouldn’t have eyes for that? Many times I wanted to own him and say he is mine, but only when in the house. When he leaves the house, I don’t follow him, I never checked where he went, and I didn’t want to know because he was a doctor and must do whatever needs to be done. When he comes back home, he is my darling. He never slept out even for a single day,” she shared, leaving mourners in stitches.
