CCTV footage captured the moment the car was allegedly stolen from a parking lot, leaving many stunned by the apparent ease with which the suspects drove away unnoticed.

“A white Toyota Prado TZ, registration number KDL 844G, has reportedly been stolen from the Mega City parking lot in Kisumu, with CCTV footage capturing the vehicle being driven away by unknown individuals,” the caption read.

When was Toyota Prado stolen?

The bizarre incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, May 12, at around 9am, according to details shown in the CCTV footage.

A security officer was seen at the scene opening the gate for the driver, who carefully reversed the luxurious vehicle out of the parking lot.

The guard appeared unaware that the person behind the wheel was allegedly not the owner of the car, as he did not question the driver while the vehicle reversed near a petrol station.

The suspect drove cautiously and did not roll down the windows while manoeuvring the car out of the parking area.

Car owner appeals to recover stolen vehicle

It was impossible to identify who was inside the vehicle because all the windows were heavily tinted, blocking visibility from the outside.

There were only a few motorists on the road at the time, giving the suspect enough space and time to drive away without raising suspicion.

“Anyone who spots the vehicle or has any information that may assist in tracing it is urged to report to the nearest police station immediately. Let’s help the owner recover the car,” the caption added.
